The Challenge
Hyke, formerly Sherpa, came to us with an ambition to disrupt an insurance industry that often feels outdated, restrictive and too generalised for the way people live now.

Insurance should help people make better decisions about their lives, their families and their futures, yet for many, it remains difficult to understand, hard to personalise and disconnected from their real needs.

The Spark
The starting point was a simple tension in modern life: our data is everywhere, but its value rarely comes back to us.

At best, personal data is wasted. At worst, it is abused. But people are beginning to understand that their data has real value, and that it should work harder on their behalf. For Hyke, this created a bigger role than simply helping people choose insurance products. The opportunity was to return that value to its rightful owners: all of us.

The Breakthrough
A user-friendly interface between people, their personal data and the insurance industry.

Rather than asking users to navigate a confusing world of policies, forms and generic recommendations, Hyke was designed to make insurance decision-making feel clear, personal and empowering.

The platform allowed people to understand their needs more holistically, optimise their coverage and make choices based on their own lives, not a one-size-fits-all model. In doing so, Hyke shifted insurance from something people are sold to something people can actively shape around themselves.

The Impact
As co-owners, we helped develop Hyke from the ground up, shaping the story, insight and creative assets needed to take the business into market and through successful funding rounds.

We also helped guide a major strategic pivot, moving the proposition from a B2C personal insurance platform under Sherpa to a B2B benefits decision-support platform as Hyke. That shift gave the business a clearer route to scale, placing its personalised insurance intelligence inside the employee benefits ecosystem, where it could help organisations support people with more relevant, more complete and more human protection.
